Augustus Saint-Gaudens' original sketch for his iconic Double Eagle design featured a Winged Liberty figure holding a shield. Using as much of the sculpture as possible from an actual coin, the relief was increased and wings and flag were added by Daniel Carr. This concept shows what the original version might have looked like if carried to fruition.
This is the last year of a 3-year run 2019-2021 (MMXIX, MMXX, MMXXI).

Words cannot express the true glory of this coin !! Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens & Daniel Carr it is a massive coin to behold and looks so awesome it makes you wonder why we even need the U.S. Mint at all.

This coin is magnificent!! Love every detail of this coin! The ultra high relief is unbelievable.... you have to see one to really enjoy the beauty of this coin!! The US mint is not putting out any product that even gets close to this! Daniel’s coins will be sought after for generations, and we are lucky enough to obtain them now!
