A surplus Denver Mint coin press is used in the over-striking process.
Over-struck on Jefferson Nickels of 2005-2020. Those struck over 2005-dated coins will have the reverse design changed from "Ocean in View" to Monticello, or from "American Bison" to Monticello. Those struck over 2006-2020 coins will have the obverse design changed from the offset front-facing portrait to the offset side-facing portrait.
